The Endless Question – Is the Fashion Industry Ready to Embrace Curves?

The Endless question – Is the Fashion Industry Ready to Embrace Curves?

Will we see curvier models or wont we?  I’ve lost count of how long this debate’s been going on!

I remember hearing once that the economy has an impact on the way we perceive the ideal body image, as the economy shrinks the ideal female body shape gets larger and vice versa.  Personally I like a bit of meat on people, and the legendary icon Marilyn Monroe herself would have been a size 16 in today’s world.  So is today’s economic climate going change our perception of perfection and make the world see sense?  Well it certainly looks that way… take a look at this article that’s been doing the rounds this week:

So, curves… i genuinely believe it’s OK to have them.  Celebs like Beth Ditto are a little extreme for my liking though; curves doesn’t mean medically obese! But I definitely think there’s room for magazines to use curvier models sized over a size 4-6 and it’s great to see the tide turning no matter how slowly it does so.

So while the fashion industry dilly dally over whether its ok to be curvy or not I think its perfectly acceptable and I have found the following finds for all those ladies wanting to embrace their curves.
